Router Protocol to Wind Down and End Operations by Sept. 30, 2026; 303 Million ROUTE Tokens to Be Burned
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Router Protocol's planned wind-down and coordinated CEX delistings signal deterioration in cross-chain bridge business models amid weak Web3 liquidity and declining interoperability demand. While the 303M ROUTE treasury burn reduces nominal supply, the effective catalyst is loss of venue access and project activity, which can pressure related interoperability sentiment. The news may weigh on broader cross-chain narratives and comparable assets as participants reassess revenue sustainability.

Router Protocol has announced it will begin a phased shutdown after more than four years of development, with all operations scheduled to cease by Sept. 30, 2026, according to Odaily Planet Daily.
The team attributed the decision to persistent Web3 liquidity constraints over the past two years, growing market attention shifting to AI, weakening demand in the cross-chain interoperability segment, and bridge-related revenue that has failed to cover operating costs. It added that attempts over the past year to explore commercialization, licensing, and acquisition options did not produce a sustainable path forward.
Router Protocol said it will permanently destroy 303 million unissued ROUTE tokens held in its treasury and work with centralized exchanges to delist ROUTE. Token holders are required to redeem their holdings before the deadline, following each exchange's procedures.
