Zcash Climbs to Highest Level Since 2016 as Market Cap Tops $20B

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Zcash surged to its highest level since 2016, lifting market cap above $20B amid strong 1-week and 30-day momentum. The rally is supported by increased accessibility after Grayscale's Zcash Trust conversion into an NYSE Arca-listed ETF (ZCSH), which broadens participation via traditional brokerages. Grayscale's AI-driven privacy thesis also reinforces demand for shielded transactions, tightening the narrative bid for privacy-focused crypto assets.

Zcash (ZEC) rallied to its strongest level since 2016, lifting the privacy-focused token's market capitalization above $20 billion as buying interest carried into the start of the week. CoinGecko data shows ZEC briefly peaked at $1,249.28 before easing back to around $1,195 on Monday. The advance has been swift: the token is up about 45% over the past week and roughly 138% over the last 30 days, based on CoinGecko price charts. Even so, the move remains well below Zcash's early launch-era spike. CoinGecko lists an all-time high of $3,191.93 on Oct. 28, 2016, a period when only a limited supply of tokens was in circulation. Zcash's renewed momentum has also refocused attention on its core proposition: optional "shielded" transactions that use zero-knowledge proofs to conceal the sender, recipient and transfer amount while still proving the transaction is valid. Supporters argue that as blockchain activity becomes easier to analyze, demand for privacy-preserving assets could rise. Grayscale has helped amplify the narrative following the conversion of its Zcash Trust into an exchange-traded fund. The Grayscale Zcash ETF, trading on NYSE ARCA under the ticker ZCSH, began trading on Aug. 25, providing traditional brokerage investors a more direct route to ZEC exposure. The ETF's website shows it closed Friday at $83.77 per share with $463.2 million in assets under management. In an Aug. 31 note, Grayscale head of research Zach Pandl said privacy features could become a "must have" as AI tools improve the ability to connect public blockchain activity to real-world identities. The argument is that even pseudonymous transactions can become increasingly traceable as pattern recognition and entity-linkage methods advance. With ZEC now at its highest level since 2016, the market's next test is whether the rally can hold as traders assess liquidity conditions, potential ETF inflows after the initial surge, and broader sentiment around on-chain privacy in the AI era.
