KyberSwap Exploiter Transfers 2,000 ETH to Tornado Cash, Laundering Over 80% of Stolen Funds
On June 25, blockchain security firm PeckShield reported that the wallet associated with the KyberSwap exploitation transferred an additional 2,000 ETH to the privacy protocol Tornado Cash. According to data cited by HuoXing Finance, the attacker has now funneled a total of 16,100 ETH through the mixer to obfuscate the transaction trail. This volume is valued at approximately $40 million based on current market prices, representing more than 80% of the $48.8 million total assets seized during the KyberSwap breach in November 2023. While the majority of the illicit proceeds have been processed through the decentralized mixer, a portion of the stolen funds remains stationary in the exploiter's wallet, awaiting further movement.
