Ethereum Foundation Targets Glamsterdam Upgrade for First Half of 2026, Details Protocol Priorities

The Ethereum Foundation published its 2026 Protocol Priorities update on Feb. 19, outlining work across three main tracks: scaling L1 execution with Blob scaling, improving user experience through native account abstraction and crosschain interoperability, and strengthening L1 security, censorship resistance, and resilience, PANews reported. The foundation said it will push the Gas Limit toward 100M and higher, progress ePBS and additional Blob parameter increases, build out the zkEVM attester client, and advance initiatives around censorship resistance and postquantum security. The next major network upgrade, Glamsterdam, is targeted for the first half of 2026, with the Hegotá upgrade planned to follow later this year.
