Abu Dhabi's Mubadala and Al Warada held $1B+ in BlackRock IBIT as of Dec. 31, 2024
Mubadala Investment Company and Al Warada Investments together held over $1 billion in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) as of December 31, 2024, regulatory filings show, The Block first reported on January 15, 2025. Mubadala held 12.7 million IBIT shares valued at approximately $631 million, while Al Warada, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, owned 8.22 million shares worth around $408 million as of the same date. The positions represent among the largest publicly known institutional stakes in a spot Bitcoin ETF since the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved such products in January 2024.
