BlackRock Amends iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF Filing with 0.25% Expense Ratio, 18% Staking Reward Share
BlackRock updated its SEC filing for the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF, expected to trade on Nasdaq under ticker ETHB with a 0.25% expense ratio, according to the amended document. Under normal conditions, the ETF will stake 70% to 90% of its Ethereum, retain some ETH for liquidity, and take an 18% share of total staking rewards, with a 12-month sponsor fee waiver preceding a 0.12% sponsor fee on the first $2.5 billion in assets. The filing names Coinbase Custody and Anchorage Digital for custody and execution services, with Coinbase as prime execution agent, and states staking rewards earned in ETH will increase NAV before being distributed to shareholders at least quarterly after fees. BlackRock seeded the trust with $100,000, equal to 4,000 shares priced at $25, while the filing reflects recent SEC guidance treating staking rewards as earned income and notes they remain taxable under current IRS rules.
