What Is GEODNET (GEOD) and How Does It Work?

GEODNET (GEOD) is a decentralized physical infrastructure network, or DePIN, that provides real-time kinematic (RTK) correction data for satellite navigation. Its aim is to help robots, drones, autonomous vehicles, surveyors, agriculture equipment, and location-aware applications achieve centimeter-level positioning accuracy instead of relying on less precise raw GNSS signals.

The network is built from independently operated satellite reference stations. Each station contributes observation data, while the network validates location and data quality before the data can support RTK correction services. Users and enterprise customers can consume those correction streams through established positioning-data workflows. Think of GEODNET as a distributed reference layer that helps a GNSS receiver refine its location estimate in real time.

GEOD is the network’s utility token. It is used in the system’s incentive and access model: station operators can earn GEOD for contributing eligible data and uptime, customers can use GEOD-related services to access RTK data, and token holders can participate in governance. This creates a connection between the token, network coverage, and demand for precision-location services, although token price performance still depends on market liquidity and broader crypto conditions.

When Did GEODNET Launch?

GEODNET publicly introduced its blockchain-based GNSS reference-station network in October 2021. The project’s early design focused on using proof of location and proof of accuracy checks to reward contributors that provide useful GNSS data.

The network has since expanded its RTK and physical-AI positioning focus. Official project materials reported 21,519 miners across 170 countries and current annual recurring revenue of USD 11.38 million when this page was researched. These network figures are operational snapshots rather than a guarantee of future growth. In 2024, governance-approved GIP3 enabled a Polygon-to-Solana bridge through Wormhole Native Token Transfers. GEODNET later announced a Polygon-to-Solana migration program, while indicating that Polygon support is scheduled to end in March 2027.

Who Created GEOD?

GEODNET is associated with the GEODAO Foundation PTE LTD and presents a public team page. The project links profiles for Mike A. Horton, Xiaohu Chen, and Yu Danyi. Its official X account has also described David Chen, known as @mvrender, as a GEODNET co-founder and Head of Web3/Blockchain.

The public materials emphasize a team spanning GNSS, sensor technology, physical infrastructure, and blockchain. Readers should rely on the project’s current team page and official announcements for the latest role and organization details, because team structures can change over time.

GEODNET Roadmap

- Scale RTK coverage: Expand station density and service availability for robotics, drones, agriculture, mapping, and autonomous systems.

- Build demand for precision data: Convert enterprise and developer use cases into recurring RTK data consumption, including physical AI and location-aware applications.

- Continue the Solana transition: Support the project’s migration from Polygon toward Solana and maintain cross-chain access while the transition remains active.

- Develop hardware and user products: Extend station hardware, GEO-PULSE navigation products, and contributor tools that connect real-world positioning with token incentives.

GEODNET does not present a fixed quarter-by-quarter public roadmap on the sources reviewed. These items reflect its documented product direction and current initiatives, not dated delivery commitments.

What Is the GEOD Token Utility?

GEOD supports a decentralized positioning-data network by linking contributor incentives, data-service access, and governance. Its utility is designed around the operation and use of RTK infrastructure, with a focus on network activity instead of a purely speculative token function.

1. Data-service access: GEODNET states that GEOD is used to access RTK corrections and API-based GNSS services. This can serve surveyors, drone operators, developers, mobility applications, and connected devices.

2. Contributor rewards: Eligible base-station operators receive GEOD rewards for contributing data and maintaining performance. The reward model considers factors such as station location, data accuracy, network conditions, and program rules.

3. Governance and staking: GEOD holders can participate in network governance. The documentation also describes staking and validator-related functions within the network’s security and governance design.

If GEOD is available on BingX, users can search for the relevant spot trading pair, review the live order book, and choose between Market and Limit orders based on their trading plan. Availability and supported pairs should always be confirmed in the live BingX market interface before placing an order.

What Is GEODNET Tokenomics?

GEOD has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens. GEODNET’s documentation states that mined tokens are unlocked and distributed to miners daily, while allocations for the team, investors, and ecosystem follow multi-year unlocking processes. Public market data listed circulating supply near 440.0 million GEOD at the time of research, although supply figures can vary between market-data providers and should be checked live.

The project also states that 80% of data revenue is used to buy back and burn GEOD. A burn permanently removes tokens from supply. This mechanism could reduce supply over time if data revenue continues, although the effect depends on actual revenue, implementation, token purchases, and the rate of new token distribution.

For traders, the key supply variables are daily mining emissions, scheduled unlocks across non-mining allocations, realized data revenue, buyback-and-burn activity, and the pace of the Polygon-to-Solana transition.

GEOD Token Allocation

GEODNET’s documentation identifies allocation wallets for the following categories:

- Mining: Rewards for eligible network contributors.

- Ecosystem: Resources for ecosystem development and network growth.

- Team: Subject to a multi-year unlocking process.

- Investors: Subject to a multi-year unlocking process.

- Vendor/Marketing: Support for vendors and market-development activities.

- Public sale: Public-distribution allocation.

The reviewed documentation provides allocation wallet addresses and an unlock-schedule chart, but it does not publish a text-based percentage breakdown for these categories on the page. Traders should review the latest official tokenomics documentation, allocation wallets, and unlock schedule before making decisions.
