Campbell’s said it is cutting 13% of its salaried workforce and closing two snack plants as it seeks to improve operations and return to profitability. The company’s snacks volumes fell 6%, and it has implemented average price increases of 4% to 5% across about 60% of its portfolio, with benefits expected to begin flowing through in the second quarter. Campbell’s plans to generate about $500 million in cost savings by fiscal 2030. It forecast fiscal 2027 net sales to decline 2% to 4% and adjusted earnings per share of $1.65 to $1.80, below analysts’ estimates of $1.86.

The company says the rules could push last-mile operations outside the five boroughs and potentially out of the city.

Dick’s Sporting Goods cuts 2026 sales outlook to $21.9 billion–$22.2 billion as demand softens
Dick’s Sporting Goods shares plunged more than 29% on Tuesday, marking the retailer’s largest single-day drop on record. The company cited weaker demand for athletic apparel and footwear and lowered its full-year 2026 sales outlook to $21.9 billion–$22.2 billion, below its prior forecast. Second-quarter earnings were $3.53 per share, missing expectations of $3.76. Last year, Dick’s bought Foot Locker for $2.4 billion to expand its sneaker business and international reach.

L3Harris CEO Christopher Kubasik steps down after board finds misconduct; Sam Mehta named successor
The U.S. Department of Defense has struck a software deal with Oracle valued at nearly $7 billion. Separately, L3Harris said its CEO resigned over a conduct violation and that Sam Mehta will take over. The company said its Space and Mission Systems (SMS) and Communications and Spectrum Dominance (CSD) units generate more than 80% of total revenue. L3Harris bought Aerojet Rocketdyne in 2023 and announced in January it would spin off its missile solutions unit, with the Pentagon set to take a $1 billion stake in the new company.
