Bitcoin traded just above $66,000 on Thursday after nearly a 6% weekly drop, with on-chain figures showing $598.7 billion in unrealized losses and about 8.8 million BTC held at a loss. The report highlights $71,500 as a key reclaim level, while a move below $64,000 is framed as worsening downside risk.

Bitcoin finished Q1 2026 at $68,200, down 22% for the quarter and its weakest first-quarter performance since 2018. After opening the year just above $87,000 and briefly nearing $95,000, it slid to about $60,000 on February 6 and ended the quarter after another dip toward $63,000.

Metaplanet said it bought 5,075 BTC in Q1 2026 for about $405.48 million, bringing its stash to 40,177 BTC as of March 31. The firm said the purchases averaged about $79,898 per coin and left it ranked third among public Bitcoin treasury holders behind Strategy and Twenty One Capital.

A Bloomberg report says dormant Bitcoin wallets linked to Satoshi Nakamoto could become targets if future quantum attackers can break current cryptography. Satoshi is estimated to control about 1.1 million BTC, and the report argues that access to long-inactive coins could create a severe market shock if they were moved and sold.

Circle said it will introduce cirBTC, a wrapped Bitcoin token backed 1:1 by BTC, aimed at institutional use cases such as OTC desks, market makers and lending protocols. Announced on Thursday, cirBTC is set to debut on Ethereum and also be made available via Circle's Arc layer-1 and Circle Mint platform.

Riot Platforms said it sold 3,778 Bitcoin in the first quarter at an average price of $76,626, generating $289.5 million in net proceeds. The miner also reported producing 1,473 BTC in Q1 and ending the quarter with 15,680 BTC, while a separate 500 BTC wallet outflow was flagged on Thursday. Other firms including MARA Holdings, Genius Group and Nakamoto Holdings disclosed combined sales of 15,501 BTC over the past week.

Bitcoin (BTC) was trading near $66,000 at the time of writing after sliding over the past week, while on-chain signals pointed to a possible bottom forming. The Fund Flow Ratio sat at 0.065 and BTC spot flows showed thin participation, with about $71 million in net inflows on 1 April after roughly $108 million of distribution since 30 March, leaving any rebound dependent on fresh inflows.

Bitcoin fell from the $69,250 area and later printed a low at $65,688, leaving BTC consolidating while trying to stay above $66,000. Price is trading below $67,000 and the 100-hour simple moving average, with resistance levels highlighted around $67,450 and $67,500. If BTC remains capped below $67,500–$67,800, additional downside levels cited include $65,500 and $65,000.
