CFTC Names 35-Member Innovation Advisory Committee With Senior Executives From Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has established a 35-member Innovation Advisory Committee that includes senior leaders from Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini, as well as representatives from Nasdaq, CME Group, Cboe Global Markets and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. The committee, which replaces the former Technology Advisory Committee, features 20 members tied directly to crypto companies with a mandate to assess how specific business models and novel platforms affect market integrity, customer protection and competition. Members include Brian Armstrong, Tyler Winklevoss, Kris Marszalek, Brad Garlinghouse, Anatoly Yakovenko, Hayden Adams, Shayne Coplan and Tarek Mansour, alongside traditional finance executives such as Vladimir Tenev, Peter Mintzberg and Nathan McCauley. The committee is aligned with the CFTC and Securities and Exchange Commission's joint "Project Crypto" initiative, which coordinates oversight of digital assets as regulation develops.
