April 5 — U.S. President Donald Trump said in a social media post that the deadline he set for Iran is nearing, warning that additional steps could be taken "within 48 hours" if U.S. demands are not met. Trump said he had previously given Iran 10 days to reach an agreement or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Abdullahhi, commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Central Command, said the Iranian armed forces will firmly defend national rights, safeguard state assets and make any aggressors "pay the price." He described Trump's actions as "helplessly, panicked, unbalanced, and foolishly" attempting to threaten Iranian infrastructure and state assets.
